The design of the TechNO-VOC™ oxidizer is a combination of high technology and simplicity. This mixture is a great asset when incorporating the equipment into an industrial process where reliability and performance are keys to operating in accordance to EPA standards. High thermal efficiency (95%), high destruction efficiency (up to 99%), and ease of maintenance are all qualities that the TechNO-VOC™ oxidizer were designed to have. The TechNO-VOC™ oxidizer is a two bed regenerative system. Each of the beds is made of specially designed ceramic substrate blocks. The material of these blocks is virtually impervious to temperature, is chemically inert, and is not subject to the attrition that can occur in other ceramic bed materials. Acting in conjunction, the beds are the heat transfer materials in the oxidizer – alternating between absorbing and rendering heat. Despite the high thermal effectiveness of the bed material, it results in uncommonly low-pressure drop through the beds. For the owner of the system, this results in not only very low natural gas fuel usage, but a reduction in fan electrical usage over other oxidizer designs. To keep a temperature profile in the heat transfer beds, the TechNO-VOC™ oxidizer must switch flow directions every few minutes. This is accomplished by two poppet valves that are located between the upper and lower windboxes of the oxidizer. Vertically configured poppet valves are a simple, reliable design that has been used with great success in our oxidizers for decades. Some of their strengths as a design are: » The metal-to-metal contact of a pair   of poppet valves has a lower contact   length than other esigns and   accounts for less than 0.25 combined   leakage. » In the event of a power failure or   loss of air pressure, the unit will be automatically "bottled   up" (holding the existing heat inside the unit) as gravity will   position the valves. » The valves require very few moving parts and are self-aligning.   If the valves need to be serviced, they are readily assessable   and can be serviced using hand tools. Acting together, the heat transfer beds and the poppet valves ensure that the TechNO-VOC™ oxidizer is reliably removing VOC from process gas with minimum of attention from plant personnel. › Locate a Salesperson
